I studied painting and sculpture at West Surrey College of Art and Design and Portsmouth Polytechnic.  In the 1980's in Paris I had several exhibitions of Still Life and Landscape paintings but in recent years I have returned to my first love of Portraiture.  For me there is nothing more exciting than capturing the form and character of my subject be it a person or cherished pet.

I believe strongly in the traditional values of solid rigorous drawing technique and skilled use of colour and it is on  these foundations that I work to produce portraits that will give lifetimes of pleasure.  I work chiefly in Oils and Pastels using photographs as my reference.   The portrait will usually take one week for a pastel and two weeks for an oil portrait depending on the number of current commissions and complexity of the portrait.
